We went on a family vacation over New Year’s on the Carnival Magic boat. It didn’t take a ton of work to plan and I love that I don’t have to entertain 10 adults and feed them for a week! They can do it all themselves on the boat.

The theme of the week that Carnival had was “CHOOSE FUN!” I think that should be the theme of my life!

About the boat: It holds 3690 guests and has 1367 crew members. That’s about 1 crew member for 3 people- that’s pretty amazing. There was a serenity area on the pool for adults only. But that was ONLY for the few adults who got up there early and saved a seat! (Which never happened to us). A waterslide (called waterworks) was on the top of the boat. Our kids (who are really adults, but act like kids) liked that. They also liked the ropes course. The fitness center had a lot of equipment and it satisfied all of our gym rats.

Itinerary: We left from Miami, Florida. We did the Eastern Caribbean cruise which went to Grand Turk, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, and TheDominican Republic.

Our favorite thing on the boat was the hamburgers at Guy’s Burger Joint. SO yummy! We couldn’t get enough. We loved the dining room for the evening meals. I love cruises because I can order as much food as I want. I love to try new things and this is the perfect place to do it because it is prepared so well. The squid was good! Also, the molten lava cake is our family favorite and wehad to have that every single night as one of our desserts.
