choices knowing what you can and can't change

 

We do have choices! Choice is defined as an act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities. It is a gift we have so many choices in this day and age, but sometimes it is overwhelming!  Once again, we all are different so we go about deciding things in our own way. What motivates your decisions? Why do you make certain choices? Sometimes the answers are made based on deep psychology inside ourselves. But let’s make it more simple. This is the first step on how to make easier decisions. I like to put things in two categories: Knowing what you CAN and CAN’T change.

This is a list of a few things you CAN usually choose:

attitude

integrity

commitment/focus

how you spend your time

beliefs

responsibility for yourself

what you eat

fitness

behavior

talents

who or what you give your energy to

what you write, say and share

habits

who you love

you can always decide to do your best!

These are some things you CAN’T change, so don’t spend your energy trying to change:

past

laws of physics

who you are related to

weather

another person

.

Start off by putting your energy into the things you CAN change. This helps me delete some choices and make easier decisions.
