Water has always been my beverage of choice, but some days I feel like I should be drinking way more of it. This week I have made it a daily goal. Sounds like a pretty easy goal… NOT. How can I forget to drink water? If I’m thirsty, I have a sip and think that’s good, but I know I can do better.
This has helped me lately– Try chia seeds in your water.
This is how I do water!
I love water just the way it is, but I have found something lately that is awesome. I put in a couple drops of lime and lemon oil and add Chia seeds. Chia seeds are packed with omega-3, protein, antioxidants and fiber. Remember chia pets- when the seeds grow, they are green and beautiful on a terra pot looking like Fred Flintstone! Now chia seeds have made a come back for their nutritional value. After about 5 minutes in water, they turn into a chia gel. Try it- you may like it! I LOVE it. It’s like a little tapioca in my water!
Limes and lemons are really good for you as well. You can use eatable oils, such as DoTerra, or fresh fruits. They both taste the same to me. Lemons are great for anxiety, blood pressure, brain injury, cold sores, concentration, colds, digestion, disinfectant, gum/grease removal, kidney stones, over eating, stress, throat infection, skin tone, liver problems, arthritis, muscular aches and pains… the list goes on. Limes are great for bacterial infections, fever, revitalizing skin, sore throats, colds, etc.
There are many benefits of water and it is essential to your health. Your body is about 60% water, your brain is about 90% water, so give back what it needs. Some benefits are:It can help you control eating. It energizes muscles. Helps with skin, head aches, kidneys, bowels and balances body fluids.
As with most things, how much water you should consume is very individual. I have heard 64 oz of water per day or take your body weight, divide it in half and that’s how many ounces you should drink daily. If your pee isn’t clear or you have any of the symptoms mentioned, drink more. Remember about 20% of our fluid comes from food. The best thing is to listen to your body. If you are thirsty, you are probably already dehydrated.
The best thing about water is it is FREE! Even if you drink bottled water, it is cheaper than any other bottled or canned beverage.
Drink and be happy 🙂
