This book was a recommended read during my yoga certification with Bodhi Yoga, and honestly, I wasn’t prepared for how much it would move me-  this one reached right into my heart and rearranged a few things.

Eastern Body, Western Mind is the perfect bridge between the spiritual and the psychological — where the chakras (energy centers in the body) meet childhood conditioning, yoga meets therapy, and the East meets the West in the most healing way. Anodea Judith takes these ancient energy centers we talk about in yoga and makes them deeply relatable for modern life.

I love how she weaves it all together — not too “woo-woo,” not too clinical — just real, raw, and compassionate. Each chapter dives into a chakra and how it connects to our emotional patterns. Reading it, I found myself nodding, highlighting, and occasionally setting the book down to take a deep breath and whisper, “Ohhh… that’s why.”

It’s not a quick read, but it’s a journey — one that pairs beautifully with your yoga mat, your journal, and maybe a cup of tea you’ll forget to finish because you’re too busy having little “aha” moments about your life.

If you’re a yoga teacher, a student, or simply someone on the healing path, this book feels like a wise friend gently showing you how to come back into balance — body, mind, and spirit.

I can honestly say this one cracked me open in the best way — the kind of book that lingers long after you close the cover, whispering reminders of your wholeness.

Try it, you’ll like it!
