Have you ever thought, “If I only knew then what I know now!” I know it’s impossible, but just suppose I could go back and whisper, no! YELL, something in my ear to help me get through life a little smoother. What would I say? I also asked my friends and family what advice they would share?

24 Things I Would Tell My Younger Self:

1. Think “I am enough.”

2. Set boundaries with every relationship and defend them.

3. Follow your heart, but trust your gut. Be yourself and always stand up for what you believe in – sometimes we have to fight for whats right.

4. True friends will be there for you during the worst of times no matter what. Be your own best friend.

5. Loyalty means everything.

6. It’s ok not to hold it together all the time.

7. Don’t compare yourself to others. Don’t care what other people think and do what we think is best.

8. Appreciate that we all have different talents.

9. Always give others the benefit of the doubt. Assume the best.

10. Save your energy for what you need.

11. Learn to say no. Trust yourself.

12. Travel.

13. Love is all that matters.

14. Live always in the now. Enjoy the moment. whatever your trials, remember this too shall pass. To everything there is a season.

15. Serve others. Be a positive force in others lives and assist them to make their journey better. Pray for help and comfort and to know what you can do.

16. Love yourself. Realize you were created by a perfect God who loves you more than you can comprehend.Take care of yourself first, second serve your family, then prioritize your leftover time. If you are not taking care of yourself you can’t take care of anyone else. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Don’t let anyone treat you badly. You are the one who teaches people how to treat you. You are beautiful just the way you are- magazines lie.

17. Meditate meditate meditate.

18. Don’t compare yourself to others. Don’t be afraid of what others think. You can’t control their thoughts anyway.

19. Don’t take short-cuts. Most of them are dead ends.

20. Laugh every day. A day without laughter is a missed opportunity. Do something fun one day a week- such as Saturdays are for fun and play.

21. Finish your education, don’t let marriage or babies get in the way.

22. Visit grandparents and ask family history questions and advice.

23. Be happy! Things will always work out. Whenever you have a trial, no matter how hard it is, think “what am I supposed to learn from this?” God gives us challenges for a reason. Don’t mope around feeling sorry for yourself, but get on with life and be happy. Even if you have to fake it until you make it. Things will always get better.

24. Don’t sweat the small stuff… and most of it is small stuff.
